Trap the smallest particles and emulsified water from gasoline. Filtration media will not separate two-cycle oil fom gasoline. Water separating canisters ensure no other contaminates or rust will contribute to a blocked fuel system. High performance 3/8 NPT ports offer lower pressure drop rates. Not recommended for use with diesel engines or with electric fuel pumps using in-line filters.

The previous reviewer clearly didn't read carefully, it simply says "for ooutboard engines" on the packaging, it can be used on inboards & I/O's as well. This is essentially the same filter head as the mercruiser filter. This is not recommended, but can be used with electric fuel pumps so long as it is placed in the suction line & the pump can handle the additional restriction in the fuel line. Comes with 2 filter elements, 2, 3/8 hose barbs & 2 plugs but no hose clamps. The OE Mercruiser elements 35-802893T fit as well. Installed in my boat in 10 minutes, works great. Buying another one for a tucker snowcat.

This filter cannot be used on inboard engines or with engines that have electronic fuel pumps. This should be CLEARLY stated on the product description. Now I have to attempt to return this as it is unusable to me and spend almost double on the right one with only a single filter cartridge from my marina.
